Absolute Positioning:
When many or all of the coordinates on the print are dimensioned
from one fixed point.   That point is the XY zero position or absolute zero.


 

Incremental Positioning:
When the the print show dimensions  going from one location to the next.
Point to point positioning. 
Dimensions given from the tools current position to the next location.
